RiverRidge Center's Brain injury outpatient neurorehabilitation is looking for a full time (40-hours per week) Recreation Therapist who would like to join a transdisciplinary team of professionals and paraprofessionals working with survivors of brain injury or stroke in an outpatient setting. This is a well -established CARF accredited program that is led by a Neuropsychologist. POSITION SUMMARY: Plan, implement and evaluate Recreational Therapy Services in accordance with a comprehensive assessment to meet the physical, mental, and psychosocial well being, as well as individualized needs and interests of patients. RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Provide clinical services including one to one treatments, group treatments (1:4 ratio), co-treatments with other disciplines and community outings. 2. Obtain Physician Orders for recreational therapy services. 3. Conduct assessments, interviews and chart reviews with patients and/or family members. 4. Plan and development program and treatment sessions. 5. Maintain documentation such as assessments, treatment/progress notes, MDS's, RAPs, care plans, and daily participation logs. 6. Implement treatment interventions based on patient's assessed needs, abilities and impairments. 7. Evaluate efficacy and effectiveness of treatment interventions in relation to patient progress. 8. Comply with Federal and State regulations, as well as professional Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. 9. Attend meetings as part of the interdisciplinary team. 10. Provide consultation to the nursing staff regarding the provision of physical, cognitive, emotional/behavioral, leisure and social intervention to patients. 11. Supervise Therapeutic Recreation Students and Interns. 12. Assist in QI projects and program evaluations. 13. Requisitions supplies and equipment as necessary. 14. Cleans, maintains, identifies and reports the need for repair of equipment as necessary. 15. Educate and advocate for Recreational Therapy and Therapeutic Recreation programs. 16. Participates in ongoing professional develop opportunities in order to comply with current certification standards.

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients/residents, family members, visitors and government agencies/personnel and the general public. 4. Ability to problem solve independently when circumstances warrant such action. 5. Ability to work in collaboration with staff in all departments. 6. Must be able to read, write and understand the English language. PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES: 1. The Recreational Therapist interacts with residents, families and visitors, center and Genesis subsidiary personnel. 2. He or she carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required. SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor-s degree in Recreational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or Recreation with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation Therapy. 2. Certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification, or eligible to take the exam. 3.
